Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), with a history spanning thousands of years. It is based on the understanding that the body is an integrated whole, where physical, emotional, and mental health are deeply connected.

Using fine, hair-thin needles, acupuncture stimulates precise points along the body’s meridian pathways—channels through which vital energy, or Qi, flows.

When this energy becomes blocked or imbalanced, it can lead to illness or discomfort. Acupuncture works to restore balance and encourage the body’s natural capacity to heal.

Modern research has shown that acupuncture can influence the nervous, immune, and circulatory systems.

At the cellular level, it can trigger biochemical responses that reduce inflammation, regulate hormones, and ease pain.

Acupuncture can support the treatment of a wide range of conditions—from stress and anxiety to digestive disorders, chronic pain, and hormonal imbalances.

When used regularly, it also serves as a powerful form of preventive care, strengthening the body’s resilience and promoting long-term well-being.

Cupping

Cupping Therapy is a traditional healing technique that uses gentle suction to lift the skin and underlying tissues, creating a reverse massage effect.

By drawing the tissue upward, cupping helps to stimulate circulation, relieve muscle tension, and encourage the flow of Qi and blood in areas of stagnation.

I offer both stationary cupping, where the cups are left in place over specific areas, and sliding cupping, where the cups are moved across oiled skin to treat broader muscle groups.

These techniques are commonly used to address chronic pain, muscle tightness, sports injuries, and fatigue, while also supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes.

The sensation is often deeply relaxing, and treatments are tailored to suit your unique needs and comfort level.

Moxa

Moxibustion (Moxa Therapy) is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of a herb called Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) near specific acupuncture points.

The gentle heat produced by Moxa is used to stimulate the flow of Qi (vital energy), dispel cold and dampness, and restore balance to the body’s systems.

Often used alongside acupuncture, Moxa is particularly effective for treating energy deficiencies, cold-related conditions, chronic fatigue, and digestive or menstrual imbalances.

The warming sensation is deeply relaxing and helps encourage circulation and natural healing.

Moxibustion can be applied in various forms — either directly over the skin or indirectly using a Moxa stick or placed on an acupuncture needle — depending on your individual needs and treatment goals.
